December CEU - Darkness to Light

Announcing the December CEU for the NASW-SC Central Unit:
Kayce Singletary will present a Darkness to Light training on Tuesday, December 04, 2012.
Darkness to Light’s® is a revolutionary sexual abuse prevention training program that educates adults to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. The program believes and teaches that child safety is an adult's job. This is a 3-hour training program that integrates the simple principles of choice, consciousness, and personal… Show more power to promote an understanding of the nature and impact of child sexual abuse, and that uses those principles to provide a context for empowered action. The curriculum is direct about holding each adult accountable, and generous in providing powerful, specific support for personal change. It calls participants into personal responsibility for the safety of children, while at the same time appreciates their fears and concerns.
Kayce is a graduate of the University of South Carolina - Aiken with a BA in Biology. Kayce received a Master’s in Social Work and a Master’s in Public Health from USC in May 2012. Kayce has a strong passion for primary prevention focusing on sexual violence and sexual health, specifically among adolescent and young adult populations.
The fee for this event is $15 for NASW members, $30 for Non-Members, and free for students with ID. A valid membership number is requried to receive the discounted rate, so please remember to bring the membership number. This fee covers a CEU certificate. If you are a participant who does not want a CEU certificate, the fee is only $1 to cover administrative costs.  Participants can pay with cash or check at the door of the event or by mailing a check or money order to the NASW-SC chapter office before the event.
