Through artifacts recovered during the excavations at the site, HCF's archaeologist is currently piecing together the material & social world of the family and their business pursuits, including the grocery store and lunch counter they operated at the site. Visit thelab, see some of the site's 60,000 recovered artifacts, and learn about the African-American family who made their lives in Columbia since 1825.
